Kindergarten Sculptures
Kindergarten artists are learning about 3-d artwork, in particular Sculptures! We discuss the difference between drawings and sculptures, and what they notice is that sculptures stand up and are made of a variety of different shapes, lines and materials. We used toothpicks and modeling clay to build our sculptures. Students took a block of clay and rolled it into 8 spheres. They had to choose to make the bottom of the sculpture a triangle with three sides, or a square with 4. Then they could add toothpicks and more clay spheres to make it stand up. The final step is to add dots of glue to all of the nooks and crannies and at the bottom to make them more secure!
