Japanese Cherry Blossom Trees

In April, we created Cherry Blossom trees using watered down tempera paint and straws. Students painted the basic branches of their tree and then used the straw to "blow" branches. Fourth Grade loved how fun it was to see the tree develop! We used q-tips and pink, red and white paint to stamp our cherry blossoms on top. To complete this work, students wrote an original Haiku to write at the bottom of their work. The perfect connection between art and poetry! Beautiful!
